Don't have enough time to do the Three Gorges River Cruise? Don't despair just take a mini cruise!
What a delightful way to spend an afternoon in Chongqing whether you're living here or just passing through.
I've done two night cruises and while it's great to see all the lights, a daylight cruise gives you a totally different perspective of the city.
Choosing a clear day is of course essential if you'd like great photos but regardless of the weather it's worth the time and effort and it's certainly value for money at just Y35 for an hour on both rivers.
Here's a few photos I shot yesterday. The water level is currently at the lowest it's been for years and I plan to take another cruise at the end of summer when the rivers at at their peak again.
Boats leave from Chaotianmen every 30 minutes. You'll be offered tickets as soon as you arrive so just look for the Y35 (prices subject to change) and follow the sales person down the bank of the Jialing River to the dock and wait for your departure.
