Lotus flower show and Zen
26 Aug2019
Monday
The Lotus Flower Exhibition is opened and will be on display until August 26th, on the seven-step lotus pond and the pavilion with gallery bridge of the Huyan Temple.

Over 200 types of potted lotus flowers and others are displayed, with the largest variety and scale ever exhibited.

With the "Lotus Rhyme and Ancient Dance" as the theme, the show is accompanied by traditional Chinese musical instruments such as Yuxiao and Zhuan. The lotus flower appreciation is in quiet and elegant retro scenes of sounds, tea tasting and traditional Chinese painting.

It is more than walking among lotus flowers and tasting lotus, but enjoying the landscape and Zen, and feeling the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture.

The Huayan Buddhist Temple has the Golden Buddha and dated from Tang dynasty. The monks, literati, politicians and celebrities in many dynasties have visited and left the temple with tens of thousands of poems and inscriptions, and ink inscriptions.

Huayan Temple includes a magnificent Tianwang Temple, a Tibetan Sutra Tower and Guanyin Hall, stone statues of Sakyamuni, Guanshiyin and Damozun, over 700 volumes of Tibetan Sutra. Huayan Lake covers an area of 7.5 hectares and surrounded by Maolin bamboo trees, with a pavilion at the heart of the lake.

The exhibition area is the pot-planted ornamental area of the North Gate and the seven-step lotus pond area of over 150 acres with more than 100,000 plants. Among them, more than 5500 pots of lotus were planted in jars, and nearly 30 mu of lotus were planted in ponds.
